Today, computers have become an important part of every office and home. Even, to bring a computer with you are no more a fashion but a business necessity not just to keep you up-to-date but aid you process many other things while still on the move. So that, we must know and understand some fundamentals of our computers if we are to ensure its smooth running at long times.

Because we work on our computers daily, there are some error messages that keep rising up and most of them are ignored. What we fail to know and understand is the messages of a malfunctioning hard drive that can be on the verge of a crash soon. A hard drive crash would not only influence our daily duties but also make lot of loss of important files or data. Most errors are,OS not found, Disk drive not Formatted, hard drive not found, Disk failure and hard drive corrupted, Unknown booting device and any more.

A error indicates a different problem the hard drive probably facing and most of them need especially attention. If “hard drive not formatted” error indicates Broken, corrupted or deleted hard drive partition. Anything from viruses until power or voltage supplied can cause this. Many software and disk partitioning utilities can also be the reason. Like a message blinking can mean some modification in BIOS boot priorities have occurred or the hard drive has turned bad or a virus has infected certain parts of the hard disk. These indications should be attended to immediately, to prevent further damage to your hard disk. Others part from such pop up images, and sounds that are emitted from your hard disk. These sounds indicate corrupted magnetic platters or damaged firmware, influence PCB controller, misalignment of the hard disk components due to a fall and power surges. An overheated hard disk can also make expansion of the internal components, that come in contact of each other making the click sounds. Another reason can be a broken actuator arm that sways freely inside your PC.

If the problems are ignored, it will eventually cause the system to hang or freeze. A computer freezes or hangs when the user is unable to work, give any further instructions and if other accessories like keyboard and mouse the fail to navigate. A hanging computer means existence of bad sectors on your computer’s hard disk causing it difficult to load or surpass them.

This hinders the hard drive’s capability to make necessary transactions like loading programs or reading documents or files and is not allowed to access other sectors without completing the given command. Although restarting (rebooting) the computer perhaps aid a few times, this condition should not be ignored to as the bad sectors probably increase with increased usage causing the complete hard drive to crash.
